1. Objective: In order to encourage creation of new medical facilities in both rural as well as in urban areas, TIIC considers financial assistance for construction of nursing homes, purchase of x-ray and other electro medical equipments including surgical equipments. Assistance is also considered for construction of small hospitals and expansion and modernisation of existing hospitals.

2. Eligibility:

	Small Hospital Scheme: Qualified Physicians, Surgeons, Dentists and Veterinary practitioners are eligible for assistance under the scheme and non-medical personal can also avail assistance subject to appointment of qualified doctors to avail assistance for construction of Small Hospitals with minimum bed capacity of 10 and a maximum of 50.
	For purchase of Electro Medical equipments: Qualified Medical professionals including Ayurvedic Doctors can purchase Electro Medical equipments under thisscheme.

3. Purpose of assistance:

	Hospitals: For purchase of land, construction of building and purchase of electro medical equipments, ambulance etc.
	Debt-Equity Ratio: The maximum debt-equity ratio permissible is 2:1
	Promoter's Contribution : The minimum promoter's contribution shall be 35% of project cost.

Repayment period from 3 years to 5 years in case of equipments alone and 7 years to 9 years in case of construction of nursing homes is considered. This includes moratorium period. The principal instalments and interest are payable monthly.

4 Other Guidelines in case of Small Hospitals:

	The Nursing Home shall have facilities for diagnosis and treatment of inpatients as well as out patients
	The Nursing Home shall have the back up expert services of atleast one post graduate doctor with qualification of MD/MS etc. on full time basis.
	The Nursing Home shall be willing to provide medical service at concessional rates to patients from low income group.
